Description: Bell pulls were a common sight on Victorian front doors until the invention of electricity and the electric doorbell. The knob is pulled out from the backplate to create sufficient movement to pull a cable which is attached to the ringing bell inside. These systems are best kept relatively short and simple to minimise the amount of maintenance needed. The knob is attached to a sprung spindle to return it after it has been pulled. The backplates have a subtle grub screw fixing so screws are not seen.
Base metal: Sand cast brass.
Finish: Unlacquered, polished brass.
Fixings: Supplied with fixing screws.
