Ideal for period bathrooms.Most rim latches have only a snib locking function which can only be operated from the lock side (usually inside a bathroom or bedroom). The release function means these latches are more suitable for properties with children or vulnerable people as emergency access is possible even when the thumbturn lock is engaged from the inside.
