Bathroom locks can be broadly split into 2 types - turns & releases and surface bolts.
Turns & releases comprise of a small knob on the inside of the door and a coin slot emergency release on the outside. They can operate with the Bathroom Mortice Tubular, Sash and Horizontal Bolts depending on the knob or handle and lock position desired.
Surface bolts differ from turns & releases in that they do not require any other fittings. Thus, they are easier to fit but usually do not have an emergency release facility. - Indicator Bolts are similar to turns & releases. The indicator can usually be changed to show VACANT/ENGAGED or RED/GREEN and they do have an emergency release. - Rim Latches screw onto the surface of the door and the snib is slid across to lock it. - Slide Bolts simply screw to the surface of the door to allow simple locking.
